Sixty Hours Lost

Sixty Hours Lost

When I was growing up, my Dad lost his keys All. The. Time. He would race around the house searching for them, sending all of us looking, too. Check the pants you were wearing yesterday! Look in the cushions of my chair! I’m going to be late to work!

Do you know where your keys are right now? What about your sunglasses? Have you seen your remote control lately? People lose things all the time. A major survey done by Pixie showed that the average person spends about sixty hours every year searching for lost items and hundreds of dollars replacing things that they cannot find. How many meetings have you missed because you could not find your keys, wallet, or purse? How many times have you raised your voice toward loved ones out of frustration? How much embarrassment have you suffered slipping in late to an event?

If you have spent the last minute you ever want to waste on searching for lost items, then you are ready to get organized. Start with those most-often misplaced items, establish homes for them, and make sure that they sleep at home every night. For instance, keys can hang on a hook by the door or lounge in a pretty bowl near the door. The wandering remote can return to the same side table or to an assigned drawer. You have better ways to spend those sixty hours! Give it a try and see if your life doesn’t get better.

Keep your necessities together and take your time back!
